Start with 3-Sigma bungee rubber or norprene tubing. Using an electrician fish tape (for pulling wire thru conduit) slide the fish tape thru the bungee rubber until the hook end protrudes out the other side. Sometimes on the longer material it will be necessary to lubricate the fish tape to cut down on internal friction - if this is necessary use KY-lubricant or some other substitute used for lubricating condoms as this will not effect the rubber. Splice the spectra into the loop and pull it back thru the bungee. When doing this it is most convenient to do it outdoors where you can lay the whole unit out in a straight line. Splice the spectra (see the tutorial under Rigging) thru the plug - be sure to stich lock the splice and then pull the plug into the bungee rubber by tying the far end of the spectra to a solid object and pulling on the bungee. Secure the plug to the bungee by tieing double constrictor knots in the two narrow necks of the plug - use the same waxed line as you would for bands(see the tutorial on making bands for double constrictor knot details). Now either enlist 3 dumb buddies or get a truck and some tubular poly rope which you slide over the other end of the bungee - be sure to have spliced the second plug onto the other end of the bungee and pull out the bungee until the far plug is seated into the other end. When doing this operation it is important to not do it in direct sunlight. The bungee may break if you heat soak it in direct sunlight prior to pulling in the second plug. I usually do it around sunset or on a cloudy day. Tie up the second plug just like you did the first - optionally you can use heat shrink tubing over the ties if you are into esthetics.
