Our side stocks are made from Mahogony which is ideal for this purpose because it is a beautiful hardwood that handles submersion in water well yet it is very bouyant for a given volume which allows one to add the most lead to achieve neutral bouyancy with significant increase in gun intertia. Teak also works well, but won't allow as much mass for a given size of side stock. Here are the dimmensions of a single side stock of each size (note there are a pair attached to each gun):
Side stocks are attached to the speargun with two to four through bolts depending on length of side stock, but you can use long wood screws if alignment is going to be difficult.
Cut to desired shape and size. Route, sand, and finish. Ballast and balance your speargun.
